New Release—Epic Red Wing with John and Amy Macgowan

The Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota, and the neighboring Wisconsin countryside is nationally known for its cycling-friendliness. Now, you can take a virtual tandem training ride with John and Amy Macgowan and friends, of the internationally renowned Indoor Cycle Instructor Podcast and Indoor Cycle Instructor Pro Website.

Take a 50-mile ride along the scenic banks of the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin, separating Minnesota and Wisconsin, on a warm July morning. What better remedy for those cold-weather blues!

This ride has it all—two climbing segments, one endurance segment and one rolling country segment—and offers a balanced workout for indoor cycling classes and home trainers.

And who knows how to put together a great virtual ride better than John Macgowan? He's been a leader in implementing Virtual Cycling classes from his two wide-reaching online forums.

"I never leave home without my Virtual Cycling DVDs. There was a time when I detested using bicycle racing videos. Now I use virtual cycling videos in almost every class I teach. I love to incorporate the structure of the video to complete my class experience," says John.

Now's your chance to ride with one of the leaders of the Indoor Cycling revolution!

This video will be shipping around October 31.

Coming Next—Epic Mt. Evans!

One of the U.S.'s true cycling meccas, Colorado has long been on our radar for filming several epicRIDES, and this summer was our time to take it on.

To pull together some great filming locations there we worked with Michael Seeberg, noted author of Road Biking Colorado, the definitive text on the subject. Michael suggested we film his favorite climb to the top of Mt. Evans, and we were off on our own epic journey!

Epic Mt. Evans might better be called Awesome Mt. Evans because this almost 7,000 foot climb takes you to the highest point you can ride in North America — 14,130 feet!

Starting in Idaho Springs and following the route of the annual Bob Cook Memorial Hillclimb, this ride is not one for the faint of heart (or lungs)! Beyond the challenge of cycling in this rarefied air (25% less oxygen at these altitudes), this ride is above the tree line much of the way, which means you will be rewarded with views of 14,000-footers on all sides!

In additon to Michael as an epicRIDES cyclist, we were joined by past Epic Tucson - Mt. Lemmon cyclist, Cindy Sanchez, now of Edwards, Colorado. It was great to work with Cindy again and see how well she has adapted to climbing at altitude!

Planned release of Epic Mt. Evans is in late November or early December!
